Yoga takes you into the present moment;

the only place where life exists.

We believe that making time to synchronize breath with movement is life changing.  It's no secret that physical discomfort & health conditions due to stress, anxiety and an inactive lifestyle are prevalent in our culture.   We collect stress in our body as we move through our day, and unless we find a way to release that stress, it affects our health.  The sources of stress are endless from work to relationships to traffic jams... and each time our stress hormones elevate, we trap little toxic time bombs in our tissues and carry those into our next encounter.   As we move and sweat we release toxins, both environmental and stress related, we are better able to navigate life, with all of it's twists & turns.

Benefits of Yoga

Modern-day science confirms that the practice of yoga has tangible physical health benefits that include improved brain function and bone density, as well as immune health, improved nervous system functioning and strength. Most people with a consistent yoga practice enjoy the benefits of a stronger body,  calmer mind, increased happiness and reduced stress. Regardless of age or athletic ability, yoga can calm the nervous system, ease aches and pains and clear the mind. You may observe these benefits as soon as your first class if you listen your body and move at your own pace. Ultimately yoga is about cultivating more awareness in your body and respecting your limits.  Whether your practice is the beginning of an active lifestyle, recovery from an athletic lifestyle or you're simply seeking physical ease, yoga can be beneficial at any age or fitness level. Add more life to your years by maintaining the ability to move freely, returning to your mat again and again to release the physical and mental stressors of daily life.

Benefits of Heat

Practicing yoga in a heated room increases your pulse rate and metabolism, allowing your blood vessels to become more flexible which improves circulation and blood flow to the limbs.  Heat helps the muscles and tendons relax which is great for those of us who are especially tight or recovering from injury or surgery. Many students report less back pain, more mobility and general feeling of well being after heated yoga. It’s important to stay hydrated and listen to your body. Always take water and rest when you need and be patient. Most new students to heated yoga need a couple of weeks to build stamina in the heat. Once you’ve acclimated, the endorphin rush you receive after completing a 60- to 70-minute class might leave you feeling like there’s nothing you can’t accomplish. And get ready for a glowing complexion!

Benefits of Community

Knowing you are not alone is a pivotal moment in your practice. When you feel the energy all around you fueling the collective, supporting individual needs and making space for the wide range of experiences the value of practicing yoga in a community lands in every fiber of the body.  The collective can lift you up when you need a boost or hold space & allow rest. Whether you need child’s pose or some amplification, you know that the students around you respect whatever you’re going through.  It’s an unspoken understanding that releases expectations and just allows space for your process. Our community is a safe space to show up just as you are and do your work. Whether your day was light & easy or gritty and long, you can come to your mat release what no longer serves you.  Come as you are and take what you need to feel better in your body.
